AMSTEDAM Half Marathon - 17 ottobre 2010

AMSTERDAM HALF MARATHON

After several days I last 2 lines to write about the wonderful experience of the 35th edition of the Mizuno Half Marathon in Amsterdam, where I managed to improve the test in Berlin and I got REALLY under 2 hours!

FINAL TIME 1 hour 58 minutes and 21 seconds, for true runners can look almost like an insult, but for me it has a very important value, I think that if only a little over a year I have improved this distance 16 minutes and 7 days before the finish I was cutting another half marathon (the one with Vincent di Pisa), an apocalyptic time of 2 hours and 26 minutes. If I consider then that was also my first half marathon race in solitary ...

Yes, I'm just happy of myself!

travel solo ... so to speak, in fact we were more than 15 thousand runners for the half marathon (30,000 in total by adding up the runners for the marathon, those of 8 km. and the kids who have run 1 km), the great day (but freschina) as the previous one and much discussed improvements to the path (so say the experts ... even if I remember at least 3 climbs that never end!), many participants have helped to improve their personal notice. The half marathon started at 13:45 from Stadionweg and the arrival was directly inside the Olympic stadium.

All participants were divided into groups of 5 different colors, ranks at the start, and I belonged to the group GREEN (in order of the penultimate ... time!) and in fact I passed on the start line after about 15 minutes from the start.
was important, indeed crucial, that complies with the roadmap designed in the days before the race, so as to achieve the goals set at the same time leave me in the last few minutes of bonus miles, where I needed to breathe a little breath. I ran the first 5 km in 26:30, with 10 km to 15 was at 54:30 and I was at 1:22:18, at kilometer 19, instead of appearing the archangel Gabriel, who showed me the way of withdrawal (the vision view from the week before in the woods of San Vincenzo Rossore ...), I realized that I could finish the race within two hours!

So I kept a pace of 6 minutes per km, and unlike the last km of Berlin, where I really risked losing "mystical ecstasy fatigue " I enjoyed the park in Amsterdam, the musicians and the people cheering at the roadside entrance to the Olympic Stadium ... complete with a video camera on.
just a shame that the resumption of the arrival is a bit ... 'move!

That goal and the crowd ... but who else forget it anymore?

Enough!

I could tell the flight from Pisa, a taxi (illegal) that they never did a price equal to the previous trip (around the world or country !)...

the withdrawal of the chest to the sports arena ...

the Pasta Party ...

the B & B where I've been ...

the triple pint of beer with dinner adjoining farms that I got in the evening after the race ...

but at least this time I prefer to do the talking pictures ...
l e parole non servono!
